Back in Mendoza
Job Search Continues...
12.02.2007
After a very nice vacation in Bariloche (think CHOCOLATE), we have all returned to Mendoza and our little apartment. Once again,we are on the hunt for jobs. Today, we spent the afternoon walking to different institutes and handing in our Resumes. All of the institutes are starting to re-open now, but it still seems like we may not find work until March. Until then, we plan on taking Spanish lessons and really working on becoming fluent.
We all signed up for Individual lessons at the ¨For the People¨institute. We decided to take lessons there because one of the teachers helped us find an apartment and became a friend of ours. Her name is Maru and she has introduced us to two other American students of hers named Justin and Greg who we have also become friends with.
We went to a dinner at Justin and Greg´s house on Saturday night. It was so nice to eat fresh fruit and veggies since we have been eating out of cans for the past week! (Oven is broken if you haven´t heard..) We also met some interesting people at the dinner party...like an Italian couple that recently moved to Argentina to start their own winery. We also met a guy from Chile, an Argentine, and an English ¨bloke.¨ We really have met people from all over the world on this trip. Wish we had the money to travel everywhere!
Time for lunch!
Love you all,
Haley, Ashley, Christine
